What is your background?

I worked in the mental health field for 10 years prior to becoming a life coach. Positions included program development, depression research, community health education, case management and administration.

Highlights from my educational background include bachelor's degrees in psychology and Spanish, as well as a master's degree in public health with an emphasis on prevention and mental health. Additionally, I am a graduate of the Certified Coach program through Coach Training Alliance and have since continued to receive additional training. I am a life-long learner (which ultimately benefits my clients)!

I became a life coach when I knew that I wanted to help people move forward, become unstuck and achieve their goals. Coaching feels more authentic to who I am. Additionally, after many different jobs and school programs, I feel that I have found my life's passion and purpose - and therefore would like to help others live theirs!

What is life coaching?

Coaches help people to bridge the gap between what currently exists in one's life and where one would like to be. Coaches, therefore, help to identify wishes in order to support their clients in achieving their goals. Many clients experience great shifts during sessions. Coaches also can serve as an excellent accountability partner.

Who are your clients?

I work best with individuals who are motivated and ready to move forward in their lives. Sometimes these people would like to gain clarity on what their passion and purpose is in life, and sometimes they already know but need an extra nudge to take big steps in their lives. I have attracted an eclectic group of clients consisting of artists, musicians, self-employed, nonprofit workers and members of the LGBT community. I also have a history of working with persons with chronic illness, those who may be in recovery from / or with a history of depression or anxiety, and those who want to reduce stress and achieve life balance.

What happens if you haven't yet worked with people like me?

My coaching skills are applicable to many people. If we find that we are not a good fit, I would be happy to refer to another professional who may be.

How are you different from other life coaches?

I have a deep understanding of mental health and bring that expertise to my coaching. Additionally, I am passionate, understanding and never judgmental. This creates an open, comfortable space for my clients. I have also received training from reputable sources on a wide variety of topics such as coaching, positive psychology, stress reduction, the art & science of wellness and even business and marketing for self-employed.

What type of personality do you work best with and what is expected of me?

I work best with individuals who want to make positive changes in their lives and to move forward in order to live the "best life" possible. This requires motivation as well as commitment. Sometimes this takes a "no excuses" approach. Prior to each session, it is expected to have an idea of what you'd like to focus on during the session, and if possible, what you'd like the takeaway to be at the end of the session.

How quickly can I expect results?

A lot of this depends on you! That is why it is important for you to do your part, and stay committed in between sessions. However, know that I am here to help and support you.

Nancie, based on everything I've read and heard about you, I know you're the one with whom I'd like to work. What are my options for getting started with you?

I have created different programs to be able to better suit individuals' needs.

  • FLOURISH: 3 full 45-minute sessions per month, plus the option of 2 extra 15 minute SOS calls with unlimited email support

This program is for high-achieving go-getters who want to move extraordinarily fast and are ready to make big changes in their lives with the help of a coach.

  • FOCUS: 3 full 45 minute calls per month plus 1 email question/exchange per week

This is the basic program for people who want to see results in their lives with consistent action and accountability.

  • FINE TUNE: Two 45-minute calls per month

This program is for people who may have already achieved their goals but would like to maintain their results and continue to work on their goals, as well as create new goals on an ongoing basis.

OK, I know which program I want. How do we get started?

Great! Did you know that one of the most prominent characteristics of successful people is that they take action? They take educated risks, are decisive and they move forward towards success faster as a direct result of this. It's a well-known fact these people make decisions based on their gut instinct. So, that being said, since this feels right for you, then go for it. Coaching is an investment in yourself. Please call me to set up a "get acquainted" phone call, which is at no-charge and no obligation.
